In the year 1967, Israel was besieged by a huge Arab army. The citizens and even the Israeli government were terribly frightened. The Rebbe’s voice was the only one that expressed encouragement and the promise of victory. On the Shabbat before the outbreak of the war, the Rebbe initiated the Tefillin Campaign, in which men and boys over 13 should don Tefillin daily (except on Shabbat and Jewish Holidays). He quoted the verse “…All the nations of the world will see that the name of G-d has been called upon you, and they will fear you…” Thousands of soldiers and civilians around the world were encouraged to don Tefillin, which led to the incredible, miraculous victory of the Six Day War.
