About Shavuot
Every Jew had to be standing at Har Sinai,
In order for the Torah to descend from on High
From its previous place of utter transcendence;
Every Jew’s presence is of paramount importance.
When the Jews stood to receive the Torah, G-d asked for a guarantor.
Will the Mitzvos be kept? Will the Torah endure? Who will truly ensure?
“Our children will be our surety,” and G-d finally agreed,
For when a child is taught in a Torah-true way, Jewish future is guaranteed.
