A Pushka, a Charity Box, belongs in every house, and even in the car. Tzedakah is not simply charity – a deed which one may feel he is performing out of the goodness of his heart for the undeserving. It actually means justice, or righteousness, for giving Tzedakah is the right thing to do. G-d gives us money for the purpose of sharing a portion of it with the poor. The Rebbe also encouraged us to affix a Pushka to the wall of the house, thus elevating the very walls of the home to holiness.
